Child Development Association
I was fortunate enough to be asked to lead a year long Community Relations event that garnered the 2011 Transforming Spaces Partner of the Year from the
Child Development Association in October 2011
I truly believe "You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give." ~ Winston Churchill
I Designed and project managed all aspects of this event, which had to be delivered in six visits with 80 volunteers and 400 man hours to produce:
• A vegetable garden with interactive session about gardening and painting pots with the children.
• A Library with interactive session reading to children and donating books.
• Designing Fence Screens to transform the playground
• Painted a food/activity pyramid
• Redesigning the landscape, including plants, bushes and hundreds of bulbs.
• Painted multiple playground houses on the site, including the addition of the AutoTrader.com garage. It was a lot of hard work but worth every minute. Especially when a child walking up the stairs seeing the screen covers for the first time said "Wow it is magical!" All the reward needed.
